A Mad Men Inspired Evening!

We toast the return of AMC's Mad Men with great noshes and a touch of style for your wardrobe and yourself.

The Food: Hummus Deviled Eggs

Bring the ultimate '60s party food, deviled eggs, to your Mad Men get-together. This tasty appetizer is making a comeback, and we've got a fun twist on the original. Add hummus to the filling and garnish with sesame seeds to take this dish to the next level.

The Food: Manhattan

What's better than a Manhattan to toast the return of Mad Men, a show innately tied to NYC? Summon your inner Don Draper with the classic cocktail replete with rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, angostura bitter and Marasca cherry.

The Food: Swedish Meatballs

These retro Swedish meatballs will take you back in time! They are made with a combination of lean ground turkey breast and ground pork, flavored with nutmeg and cardamom and simmered in a creamy mushroom sauce.

The Ambiance: Public Relations (Home Bar)

For the 1960s ad man, business (and a hint of pleasure) practically revolved around a well-stocked bar. The top "Mad Men" are incomplete without their sophisticated yet simple bar complementing their deals and seductions in each episode. Get the look with a mixture of dark wood tones, silver accents and distinguished glasses that’ll have you feeling ready to conquer the art of the sell!

The Ambiance: Tomorrowland (Pop Of Mod)

There are few things we adore more about the '60s than the vintage style! From the lavish pieces of art to the bursts of color, we had too much fun trying to pull off this look. To achieve a mod look worthy of Mad Men applause at your next party, combine blue drinking glasses with a bright yellow round serving tray for a stylish combination. Keep your party looking classy and oh so cosmopolitan by adding a silver champagne bucket to the display!

The Ambiance: The Arrangements (Well-read)

This sophisticated and strong look speaks to the culture of American society in the 1960s and we're loving it! The cutting-edge sleek set-up of this coffee table mirrors the richly furnished and dramatic look of the decade. It was very common to see coffee tables adorned with large-scale books as a way to convey style and a sense of intellectual dominance. Keep it fun by adding a mini brandy snifter and a classic steel tray to the books to make the ultimate Mad Men statement at your next party!

The Wardrobe: Sweet and Sassy

This flirty shift dress with a beaded neckline paired with a boxy yet ladylike hot pink jacket speaks to the bright colors and clean lines popular in the late 1960s. Fashionable young women were still holding on to the saccharine styles from earlier in the decade, while shifting towards more mod looks at the same time. We can see Sally Draper wearing this ensemble on a visit to her father's posh Madison Avenue advertising agency.

The Wardrobe: Mod Mod Mod

Graphic mod styles like the bold black and white stripes on this dress were all the rage towards the late 1960s. Megan Draper or Joan Harris might have worn an outfit like this to a weekend party – paired with a classic cat-eye frame, of course!

The Wardrobe: Easy Breezy Beehive

The late 1960s were all about big, bodacious volume when it came to hair. For the perfect beehive 'do a la Joan Harris, follow these easy steps:

  1. Use a tail comb to create a side part on the side of your choice. Partition off a large chunk of hair near your crown.
  2. Tease the sectioned off piece by the strand, and use a medium hold hairspray to keep it in place.
  3. Use a styling brush on the hair's outmost layer so the teased portion looks smooth and shiny.
  4. Gather the ends of the teased portion, fold under, and pin to your lower neck. Use a little more hairspray to keep in place.
  5. Gently tease the front hair and arrange it either around your face or behind your ears – up to you!

We've joined forces with our friends at StyleList and Homesessive to toast the return of AMC's Mad Men with great snacks, drinks and style inspiration for your wardrobe and home.
