Jim Gaffigan's 'Food: A Love Story' Comes Out This Month

You probably know Jim Gaffigan best for his comedic routines. But the funny guy is now trying his hand at exploring America's eating habits (and his own) in Food: A Love Story. Gaffigan is the first to confess that he is not qualified to write a book about food. He writes, in a to-be-expected hilarious tone, "What are my qualifications to write this book? None really. So why should you read it? Here's why: I'm a little fat. If a thin guy were to write about a love of food and eating I'd highly recommend that you do not read his book."

Though it's a less traditional nonfiction, fans of food will appreciate Gaffigan's observations on American eating habits and the American diet, including how he believes pretzel bread is the third most important invention behind the wheel and the computer, and debating which animal is more delicious "...the pig, the cow or the bacon cheeseburger." The book hit shelves October 21!
