How to Make a Homemade DIY Pumpkin Spice Latte

It's time to warm up with a pumpkin spice latte! Sarah Carey demonstrates how to make this fall favorite at home with the perfect spice blend. Pumpkin spice latte is the perfect way to warm up during the cold weather months, and this homemade version infuses milk with a blend of fresh spices for rich flavor and wonderful aroma.

Sarah starts by infusing milk with pumpkin spice flavors, using a spice blend of freshly peeled and sliced ginger, a whole nutmeg and a whole cinnamon stick in a pot. The milk is sweetened with a little sugar and heated to boiling temperature. When it comes to a boil, it is taken off the heat and sits for 30 minutes to allow the flavors to completely infuse. Strain the milk, and now the infused milk is ready to pour into espresso or your favorite coffee. Don't forget to add a dollop of whipped cream and sprinkle some cinnamon on top for an extra special touch!

The young, up-and-coming designer Gabrielle from Martha Stewart's Halloween challenge miniseries Shriek or Chic joins Sarah for this warming fall and Halloween favorite and discusses what it was like competing against New York City's finest young designers for a chance to create an original Halloween costume for Martha.
