How to Make a Big Mac

What if we told you that you could make McDonald's Big Mac at home? That iconic McDonald's burger is actually pretty easy to put together. Turns out, the secret is in the sauce—and the burger structure.

Start by preparing the sauce, which is the really crucial factor in setting apart this homemade Big Mac from any other homemade burger. It's easy though! You just need to combine several condiments and spices that you probably have at home already. You'll want to mix mayonnaise, mustard, relish and white wine vinegar together in a bowl. Then add garlic powder, onion powder and paprika. Mix the condiments and spices together. Make sure to test the sauce so you can add more spices if necessary.

Then go ahead and cook the burgers. The burger part is pretty straightforward. Simply grill two patties on a grill or in a pan on the stove. Chop up lettuce and onions to add as toppings.

Now, the architecture of the burger is what really makes this meal a Big Mac. Take a bun and spread sauce on it. Add onions and lettuce, followed by a slice of cheese. Place a burger patty on top of the cheese, and another bun to complete the first tier of the burger. Spread sauce on the second bun before adding it to your building tower! Then, run through the motions again: add onions, lettuce, pickles, a burger patty, and the final bun to top it all off.
