'Friends' Central Perk Pop-Up Coffee Shop To Open in NYC This Fall

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the popular television show Friends, a pop-up coffee shop modeled after Central Perk will be opening in New York City next month.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the coffee shop will open in Soho at 199 Lafayette Street near Broome Street on September 17 and stay open for one month. The coffee shop will serve free Eight O'Clock coffee, featuring the brand's limited edition special Central Perk roast, and the space will be outfitted with the iconic orange couch and props from the show.

Gothamist reports that other perks include special appearances from James Michael Taylor, who played the barista Gunther on the show, weekly in-store performances (fingers crossed for renditions of "Smelly Cat"!) and plenty of contests and giveaways of Friends merchandise throughout the month!
