On Good Morning America, Dominique Ansel revealed his now wildly famous Cronut recipe. This big reveal came just before the baker plans to release his cookbook, Dominique Ansel: Secret Recipes.

"It took quite a lot of work in my small New York home kitchen to work out a version of the Cronut recipe for an at-home cook," the baker told Good Morning America, "The book has some much simpler recipes, but this is definitely a three-day challenge for the real serious bakers out there. I hope they have fun with it and make it for someone special."

There is one caveat to the Cronut from Ansel's cookbook. Ansel has slightly altered the ingredients and techniques used in his soon-to-be public Cronut recipe. Ansel's recipe at the bakery calls for a flour not easily found in commercial stores, so he's adapted his recipe to make it more accessible to fans.

Still, the recipe is a sight to behold. For only eight servings, the recipe is pretty complex and requires many ingredients. Several steps in the recipe take a few days. Still, the recipe will, no doubt, delight amateur bakers who would love to try and make the trendy treat at home.

Dieter beware, the recipe for the Cronut contains 26 tablespoons of butter and a quarter cup plus a tablespoon of granulated sugar.

After inventing the whimsically named Magic Souffle, Chocolate Chip Cookie Shot, Ice Cream Sundae in a Can, Waffagato and Pretzel Lobster Tails, Dominique Ansel is still most widely recognized for the Cronut. His croissant-doughnut mash-up became the dessert du jour at the Dominique Ansel Bakery in Soho, New York and has garnered lines over several hours long that eager fans would wait in the wee hours of the morning to try their luck at buying the coveted dessert. In 2013, the Cronut was named one of the best inventions of the year.

Ansel patented his creation and the recipe has been shadowed in a flaky, creamy veil of secrecy ever since. However, Ansel plans to release his debut cookbook, Dominique Ansel: Secret Recipes, on October 28th and it will even feature his Cronut recipe, which the famed baker recently revealed on Good Morning America.
