Cinnamon Oatmeal Apples

Updated

Let's talk breakfast! Something fast, something nutritious and something fun that the kids will WANT to eat- as in something that won't end in an all out war between mom and kids. Not that I have ever had a "war" with my picky 4 yr old. It's not like he has ever thrown his food on the ground and demanded for candy instead of muffins or my one-year old deciding mid-chew that he doesn't want a pancake in his mouth so he "must" spit it out! It's not like anything such as that has ever happened to this "rock star" mom! Only every day of my life- NEVER! Never!

In my opinion the best texture and flavor combination is crispy and soft with a hint of salty sweetness. This "ultimate combination" is exactly what my newest breakfast concoction is all about. Most moms agree- you have kids who like oatmeal and you have those who hate it. I have one son who does and one who doesn't and to accommodate both of their "likes and dislikes" I decided to liven things up with our favorite oatmeal and try a new method to get my oldest son to eat his.

Since he LOVES his granola bars (because the oatmeal is rather chewy and crisp) I thought a big helping of our favorite Perfect Portions Cinnamon Oatmeal by Quaker baked crisp on top of a roasted apple filled with cinnamon sugar butter and topped with vanilla yogurt and a drizzle of honey would be the perfect beginning to a perfect day! This breakfast is YUMMY! It is healthy and yet delicious and you can even take this beyond the breakfast table and serve it for guests at your next dinner party. Dress it up with a homemade bourbon or caramel sauce and your guests will be raving. With the perfect portions you can easily control how much oatmeal you want to make with is great considering most other oatmeal brands either present you with a large tub of plain oatmeal or individual flavored pouches. With the perfect portions you get flavored oatmeal but in a re-sealable bag.

If you don't believe me just try it for yourself! You will fall in love with this fun and easy way to incorporate both fruit, yogurt and oatmeal into your family's day!
