Ben & Jerry's Debuts New "Cookie Core" Ice Cream Flavors

Ben & Jerry's fulfills your wildest fantasy with new ice cream flavors that have crushed-cookie centers, called Cookie Cores.

The dreamy, creamy treat launches today in three flavors: Boom Chocolatta! Cookie Core, Peanut Buttah Cookie Core and Spectacular Speculoos Cookie Core. Each flavor features a thick core of spoonable cookie butter down the center of the pint.

Boom Chocolatta!, which is half mocha ice cream and half caramel ice cream, is mixed with chocolate cookies and fudge flakes and includes a chocolate cookie core. Peanut Buttah has peanut butter ice cream with crunchy peanut butter sugar bits, peanut butter cookies and a smooth peanut butter cookie core. Spectacular Speculoos features dark caramel and vanilla ice creams with cinnamon-spiced speculoos Cookies and a speculoos cookie butter core.

John Henry Siedlecki, senior brand manager at Ben & Jerry's, describes the center's texture as similar to cookie dough but crunchier, reports Bloomberg Businessweek.

They join five other Cores flavors that have fudge, caramel or real raspberry jam centers.

According to Bloomberg Businessweek, the ice cream season run from around Memorial Day to Labor Day, but new ice creams are typically launched from January to April. Siedlecki explains that this gives consumers enough time to get to know the new flavors ahead of the warm weather months. Ben & Jerry's launched their new flavors earlier this year to get ahead of the competition.
