The Avozilla Takes Over

Weighing in at a whopping 3 pounds, Tesco's new giant avocados, nicknamed "Avozillas," really do have a Godzilla-sized presence. The U.K.-based supermarket chain is selling the "world's largest avocados," which are five times bigger than standard varieties, for £3.

According to The Guardian, the seven-and-a-half-inch avocados are incredibly rare, picked from just four trees in South Africa. Their supermarket debut comes at a time when avocado's popularity in Europe is high and still growing. Tesco's salad buyer, Emma Bonny, told the publication, "We believe the Avozilla will appeal to shoppers who are looking for value for money, but especially large families." She recommends making guacamole with the avocado and serving it in a bowl made from the avocado's skin.

The supermarket chain has introduced a number of extra large options to its shelves in the past, from enormous Brussels sprouts to giant pineapples.
