Florida State athletics receive a $1 million donation from a familiar face

Florida State football coach Mike Norvell and his wife, Maria, are donating $1 million to support FSU athletics, the athletic program and Seminole Boosters, Inc. announced Thursday.

The Norvell’s donation is to be split among the Dunlap Football Center Fund, Bowden Society Facility Fund and sports nutrition department, a press release said.

The Dunlap Football Center had its groundbreaking in December, the Tampa Bay Times reported.

Norvell is entering his fourth season as the Seminoles’ head football coach. Last season, FSU went 10-3 and defeated Oklahoma in the Cheez-It Bowl.

In January, an early college football rankings list was released on NCAA.com, and the Noles were ranked as the seventh-best team in the nation.
