Seminoles: Stop whining. Think sportsmanship.

I remember trying out for a team and the coach stressing to our parents how we would all learn about good sportsmanship. How wonderful it was to win and how to lose without complaint. Then the Florida Seminoles didn’t get chosen to be one of the four best teams. Because the whining and moaning was so loud it was hard to realize that a war was not underway. Now we have a political investigation threatened and before long no doubt a Democrat will be found to be behind it all. Tears, cries, moans, groans, threats. Good sportsmanship? Bah, humbug.

Biden's flip on the border comes late

Not too long ago, President Joe Biden confidently told us there was no crisis at the border. We knew differently. Today, Biden and his surrogates are openly calling it a “crisis.” Because of our open borders, the damage to America will be lasting. Yes, we are a nation of immigrants; my husband is one. Many came to America for the opportunities absent in their birth countries. America is a nation of laws, which are reasonably enforced, and due process is a founding principle. Today? Who knows where we’re at?

College presidents' testimony disappointing

Re the women presidents of our "elitist" universities: We have worked so hard during our lives with our hearts and souls for the "women's movement." We have even used you as examples to our daughters and granddaughters of what they can achieve. What a disappointment. Your testimonies were horrid, placing Jewish American students at risk on your campuses. It will be a "cold day in hell" before we encourage our special loved ones to go to your schools.

Voters must choose better

Minority Rule seems to have raised buffoonery to a level of acceptability, which is not only infuriating but dangerous. We cannot allow our representatives to conduct public affairs with a view to private and class interests. You don’t solve problems by creating more problems. We, as voters, must embrace the boldness of thought to see what is wrong and correct it.

House GOP a threat to global democracies

We are officially infected by the tyranny of the minority, a minority called MAGA House Republicans. Though light on real accomplishments, they do have a great talent for embarrassing our country on the world stage and fiddling while Rome burns. A handful of radical House GOP members – sadly some are from Florida -- showcase their ignorance of world affairs and embrace terrorists, like Hamas and Vladimir Putin by letting the Ukrainians, the citizens of Israel and Gaza, even the Taiwanese, twist in the wind because they are adamant that a foreign aid bill to defenders of democracy should be handcuffed to a border security bill. Aside from the actions of the former occupant of the White House, I have never seen such irresponsible behavior that threatens social and political stability here and abroad. They must be voted out of office if our democracy and others are to survive.
