Florida mayor shrugs off Biden F-bomb during Hurricane Ian visit: ‘Didn’t faze me one bit’

The mayor of a storm-ravaged Florida beach town is shrugging off the F-bomb that President Biden dropped as the two chatted during a visit to survey the damage from Hurricane Ian.

Fort Myers Beach Mayor Ray Murphy said he and the commander-in-chief were just behaving like two regular Irish guys when Biden was caught on a hot microphone saying: “Nobody f–-s with a Biden.”

It wasn’t immediately clear what Biden was referring to.

Murphy responds with profanity of his own, saying, “You’re godd---ed right!” to which Biden responds, “You can’t argue with the brothers outside the house.”

“We’re both Irish Catholics. We’re both devout Catholics. But every once [in] a while a little salty language comes out,” Murphy told NBC News. “That’s just the way two guys talk to each other from our respective backgrounds.”

“It didn’t faze me one bit,” added Murphy, whose office is non-partisan.

“It was not directed at anybody. It was just two guys talking,” Murphy said.

Biden had just attended a briefing and delivered remarks on the Hurricane recovery with a couple of his top critics: Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Florida Senator Marco Rubio.

Hurricane Ian has resulted in at least 98 confirmed dead, including 89 in Florida, and many still wait for power to be restored. Ian’s 150 mph winds and punishing storm surge last week took out power for 2.6 million in Florida. Many people still are unable to get food and water, although DeSantis said power has been restored to more than 97% of the state.
