Florida car dealer sells display SUV, asks for it back: report

They auto know better.

A Florida car dealer sold a 2021 Ford Bronco Sport display model to a Tampa man last month before calling the customer and demanding that he return it, according to a local report.

WFTS-TV reported that Adam Sidoti put down an almost $2,500 payment before pulling out of the dealer’s lot on Dec. 22. Then came the call.

“They said I needed to bring the vehicle back,” Sidoti, 48, said. “They wanted me to bring it back by 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve.”

The new auto was intended to sit on display for four months, according to WFTS, but Sidoti was ultimately allowed to keep it.

“After speaking with our team, as soon as we were made aware of this situation on Dec. 29, 2020, we made sure the customer is able to keep the vehicle,” Ford said in a statement to the news station.
