Florence Pugh Is Gorgeous in a Semi-Sheer Metallic Gown
Florence Pugh made a shining appearance in Hollywood last night.
The Don't Worry Darling actress attended the Academy's Governors Awards at LA's Fairmont Century Plaza hotel, where she dressed in a new metallic iteration of the sheer red-carpet trend.
The star chose a white gown from Victoria Beckham's spring/summer 2023 collection, which featured a mostly-sheer scoop-neck bodice with draped opaque fabric at the chest and waist, ending in a subtle train. The sheer torso and skirt panels were covered with metallic silver embellishments, and artful silver fringe fell from the sides in asymmetrical draping.
She paired the dress with white platform pumps and a gold statement necklace with small interwoven chains and hanging tassels, as well as a delicate diamond nose ring and stud earrings. Her beauty look included glittery gold eyeshadow, a nude lip, and a slick mullet-style bob.
The Little Woman star has become known for her boundary-pushing sheer looks, including a feminine bow-adorned piece by Rodarte and a luxurious sequined Valentino co-ord. She also made a stunning statement at Valentino's fall/winter 2022 haute couture show this past July, when she drew both praise and controversy for wearing her hot pink tulle dress with no bra.
Pugh spoke about the appearance in an interview for Harper's BAZAAR's September 2022 cover story, explaining that she and designer Pierpaolo Piccioli decided together to remove the inner lining of the dress. "I was comfortable with my small breasts," she said. "And showing them like that—it aggravated [people] that I was comfortable."
"It was just alarming, how perturbed they were," she continued. "They were so angry that I was confident, and they wanted to let me know that they would never wank over me. Well, don't."
