Florence Pugh Goes Bold Once Again in Sheer Lace and Floral Dress

At this year's ELLE Style Awards, which took place at The Old Sessions House in Clerkenwell, London, on Sept. 5, Florence Pugh exceeded expectations with her fashion look, dressing in a sheer lace white dress with punk accessories and hairstyling.

Pugh wore a feminine Alexander McQueen dress with a halter high neckline and mermaid silhouette skirt paired with pearl earrings, while she added an edge with spiked-up hair, a septum ring, and bright blue nail polish.

During the event, Pugh was awarded the British Icon Award for her memorable and daring fashion, such as the sheer pink Valentino dress she wore to the brand's fashion show in Rome, Italy.

"I am loud, I am vulnerable, I am opinionated. I am right, but also wrong," Pugh said while accepting the award from friend and fashion designer Harris Reed. "I don’t care what people think of me, but I also care what people think of me. I’ve done a lot of growing this year. I love to love and sometimes that means I get it wrong, but loving is very important."

The Oscar-nominated actress went on, "I am protective, and I will always be protective of those who look up to me. Thank you to you and my supporters – I couldn’t have received this award without you all."

In an interview with ELLE in honor of the award, Pugh commented on the criticism she faced over her fashion choices in the past and why it doesn't bother her: "I speak the way I do about my body because I’m not trying to hide the cellulite on my thigh or the squidge in between my arm and my boob; I would much rather lay it all out."

Pugh became a rising star in the entertainment industry after her impressive performances in projects like Lady Macbeth and The Little Drummer Girl, before solidifying her star status in Midsommar, Little Women, and her introduction to big blockbusters with Black Widow.

After appearing in this year's major release, Oppenheimer, Pugh's next big role will be in Dune: Part Two, which was recently delayed to March 15, 2024, due to the ongoing strikes.
