Flood warning in effect for Worth County near Winnebago River

May 9—A flood warning is in effect in Worth County for the Winnebago River from Thursday afternoon to late Saturday morning.

The warning applies to the river at Mason City, or from Beaver Creek near Fertile to the Shell Rock River near Rockford.

The National Weather Service states people should turn around when encountering flooded roads, noting most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
