Molli and Max in the Future, starring The Flight Attendant's Zosia Mamet, has received its first reviews, landing a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score from critics.

The sci-fi romantic film, which sees Aristotle Athari co-star alongside Mamet, follows the story of Molli and Max, who bump into each other across the course of "12 years, four planets, three dimensions, and one space cult".

"Molli and Max in the Future is a grounded romantic comedy set in an absurd world. Max believes people change. Molli doesn't," the synopsis adds.

Critics have described Michael Lukk Litwak's debut feature as the intergalactic equivalent of cult classic When Harry Met Sally, as well as praising Litwak's ability to provide a fresh take on the well-saturated romantic comedy genre.

"Despite its wobbly second half, Molli and Max in the Future is an inventive, endearing, and entertaining movie. Blending sci-fi details with rom-com tropes and a sharp self-awareness, it charts a daring new path that makes it well worth the watching," said Mashable.
