West Palm Beach will close portions of Flagler Drive and Clematis Street in upcoming days, forcing drivers to take alternative routes.

What the city describes as "essential construction work" will close the 300 block of Clematis on Wednesday from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Utility work will require the temporary, nighttime closing of Flagler Drive between Okeechobee Boulevard and Diana Place. Beginning Sunday night and continuing through Friday morning, Flagler will be closed to all vehicular traffic from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The Flagler closure will resume April 14 and continue to 5 a.m. April 19.
