When the holidays are over and the decorations are put away, our homes can feel a little sad. Joanna Gaines combatted those post-Christmas blues with an unconventional idea, and she shared it with her fans on Instagram.

The Fixer Upper star has been chronicling her holiday decorating on social media. First, her truly massive fiddle leaf fig (named Norm) had to be relocated to the laundry room to make room for her breathtaking Christmas tree. She shared videos of decorating her young son Crew's bedroom, adding fresh wreaths all over the house, and setting the dining table with her favorite finds.

In the blink of an eye, it was time to take everything down and return Norm to his normal corner. Joanna said she was sad, but it was time to haul out the tree and feed it to her herd of goats.

What's a plant lady to do with the empty space after the decorations have come down? Joanna put her creativity to work to spruce up her "naked" walls. She explained, "If your home feels a little naked after the holidays, cut a branch and stick it in a vase." The video shows her climbing on the sofa in sweats and her cozy Uggs with a power tool to arrange the branch just so. She said, "Don't screw it in the wall like I did, though. That's a little too far.😅"

We have to agree: This simple idea adds a beautiful touch to her living room. Will you be trying this at home?
