The first half of the NFL’s ranking of the top 100 players was released Sunday, and more of the list is expected to be unveiled on Aug. 21 and Aug. 28.

But that’s not the only ranking of the NFL’s elite players.

CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco released his annual top 100 on Monday, and it includes a whopping nine Chargers players. On the other end of the spectrum, six teams didn’t have anyone make the cut.

The Chiefs had five players among the top 100. Here is a closer look at which Chiefs were ranked.

QB Patrick Mahomes, No. 3

This is an excerpt of what Prisco wrote about Mahomes: “He wasn’t as good last season as in years past, but he remains one of the best in the league. Even a slight dip for him is better than most.”

TE Travis Kelce, No. 19

He was listed one spot ahead of Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert.

DT Chris Jones, No. 36

“They moved him to end last year, which was a horrible move,” Prisco wrote in part. “When he moved back inside, the defense improved greatly.”

C Creed Humphrey, No. 59

Here is a snippet of what was written about Humphrey: “He anchors what has become a good offensive line, and he should be even better this season.”

G Joe Thuney, No. 96

This is part of what Prisco wrote: “He was good protecting Patrick Mahomes and was solid in the run game — even if they don’t run it as much as some would like.”
