Fish, clam and crab for free in Oregon during Free Fishing Weekend in June

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife is hosting Free Fishing Weekend on June 1 and 2.

During these two days, no fishing or shellfish licenses or tags are required, allowing Oregon residents and nonresidents to enjoy free fishing. There will also be a variety of fishing events at various locations across the state.

Closures, bag limits, size restrictions and other fishing regulations will still apply. A full list of regulations can be found at eregulations.com/oregon.

According to ODFW, clamming is open from the Washington state border to Cape Blanco. Clamming is closed south of Cape Blanco to the California border because of elevated levels of domoic acid, ODFW said. There are no closures for crabbing. For the latest updates, go to bit.ly/3RmKgb5.

Free Fishing Weekend overlaps with State Parks Day, which offers free parking on Saturday, June 1.
