The first trailer for Seth Rogen's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem has been released.

The Knocked Up star plays mutant warthog Bebop in the animated movie, alongside Micah Abbey as Dontello, Shamon Brown Jr as Michaelangelo, Nicolas Cantu as Leonardo and Brady Noon as Raphael.

The trailer sees the enthusiastic Turtles testing their abilities on a secluded rooftop, before they’re launched into taking on a mysterious crime syndicate.

The new promo comes not long after Rogen, who also serves as a producer on the project, appeared at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards to announce the rest of the star-studded cast for the highly-anticipated reboot.

Marvel star Paul Rudd and DC actor John Cena are among those lending their voices to the film, playing the roles of Mondo Gecko and Rocksteady respectively.

They join a stellar ensemble cast that also features Jackie Chan as Splinter, Post Malone as Ray Fillet, Ice Cube as Superfly, Rogen’s Bad Neighbours co-star Rose Byrne as Leatherhead and The Good Place actress Maya Rudolph as Cynthia Utrom.

Hannibal Buress will appear as Genghis Frog, Natasia Demetriou as Wingnut, Ayo Edebiri as April O’Neil, and Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman.

Originally based on a 1984 comic, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles first appeared as a cartoon on Nickelodeon in early '90s, before a number of feature films were released.

Brian Robbins, President of Kids & Family for ViacomCBS, expressed how excited the studio was for the reboot, produced by Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver.

"Adding Seth, Evan and James’ genius to the humour and action that’s already an integral part of TMNT is going to make this a next-level reinvention of the property," he said.

"I’m looking forward to see what they do, and I know that Ramsey Naito and her team are excited to take the Nick Animation Studio into another great direction with their first-ever CG-animated theatrical."

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem will be released on August 4.
