Sex Education star Aimee Lou Wood and Ghosts' Lolly Adefope star in the first look at comedy film Seize Them!.

The duo will be sharing the screen with Bridgerton's Nicola Coughlan, W1A's Jessica Hynes and Krazy House star Nick Frost for a royal power struggle.

Set during the Dark Ages, Seize Them! is the story of an arrogant and vain queen (Aimee Lou Wood) who is ousted from power by the charismatic revolutionary Humble Joan (Nicola Coughlan).

Queen Dagan soon has to rely on handmaiden Shulmay (Lolly Adefope) and villager Bobik (Nick Frost) t0 help her rally an army to take back her kingdom.

All the while, the lowly serfs of the kingdom realise that their new leader, Humble Joan, might not be as humble as she appears to be.

The film's all-star comedy cast also includes Taskmaster's James Acaster, Game of Thrones' Paul Kaye, Ghosts' Ben Ashenden and EastEnders legend Nitin Ganatra.

Baby Done and Fantail filmmaker Curtis Vowell directs the period comedy from a script by Emmy-winning screenwriter Andy Riley, whose CV includes award-winning work on Veep as well as the 2018 animated comedy Sherlock Gnomes and BBC One's adaptation of David Walliams' children's book The Boy in the Dress.

The project was filmed on location last year in London, Kent and Wales, with Kidulthood and The Nan Movie's Damian Jones on board as a producer.

Aimee Lou Wood has a busy year ahead with the Channel 4 series Alice & Jack with Andrea Riseborough and Domhnall Gleeson, Netflix drama Toxic Town and BBC Three comedy Daddy Issues with David Morrissey.

Seize Them! will screen in US and Irish cinemas from April 5, 2024. A US release date will be announced in due course.
