First trailer for Kelly Rowland's new Netflix thriller Mea Culpa
The first trailer has been revealed for Kelly Rowland's new Netflix thriller Mea Culpa.
Directed by Tyler Perry, the film centres around a criminal defence attorney who becomes romantically involved with her new client — only to realise that he may not be innocent (via Deadline).
"Mea Culpa tells the story of criminal defence attorney Mea Harper (Rowland), who takes on the murder case against Zyair Malloy (Moonlight's Trevante Rhodes), an artist accused of killing his girlfriend," reads the official logline for the film.

"As she tries to figure out if her cagey and seductive client is as innocent as he claims, Mea gets thrust into a world that's both hot and dangerous."
The steamy trailer sees Rowland's character grow closer to her enigmatic client, while searching for evidence to prove he didn't commit murder. As more evidence piles up, the lawyer begins to suspect that not all is as it seems.
The film also stars RonReaco Lee (Nappily Ever After), Shannon Thornton, Sean Sagar (Our Girl) and his brother Nick Sagar (The Princess Switch).
As well as starring, the Destiny's Child singer will also produce the film alongside Perry, Dianne Ashford, Will Areu and Angi Bones.

Mea Culpa marks Perry's fourth film with the streaming service. The filmmaker is also working on upcoming World War II epic Six Triple Eight.
The movie will tell the true story of the only all-Black, all-female battalion who were assigned with the seemingly impossible task of organising three years' worth of undelivered mail.
Mea Culpa will be available to stream Netflix on February 23.
