First trailer for Jenna Coleman's new movie Jackdaw
Jackdaw, the new film starring Jenna Coleman and Oliver Jackson-Cohen, has released its first trailer.
The crime drama follows a former motorcross champion (Jackson-Cohen) as he searches for his kidnapped brother, with a botched job for a local criminal leaving the army veteran fighting for survival as he aims to be reunited with his sibling.
In addition to Coleman and Jackson-Cohen, the cast for Jamie Childs’ feature debut includes Thomas Turgoose, Rory McCann, Allan Mustafa, Vivienne Acheampong and Joe Blakemore, with Childs also penning the script.

The brooding trailer depicts the seedy criminal underworld of the North East, with the clip being narrated by the villain of the piece as he taunts the lead character. Coleman is briefly seen in the short teaser, so her role currently remains a mystery.
The release of the trailer coincided with the film’s world premiere at Fantastic Fest over the weekend, with Film Threat describing the film as a “singularly entertaining action flick bolstered by inventive sequences, solid performances, and evocative attention to detail”.
Eye for Film also reviewed the film positively, writing: “This simple formula relies on strong direction and finely tuned performances to make it work. It doesn’t fall short.”
Voices from the Balcony commended Childs for their direction, with particular praise going to the action sequences.

Jackdaw isn’t the first collaboration between Coleman and Jackson-Cohen, with the pair appearing together in Prime Video miniseries Wilderness, which launched earlier this month.
The six-part limited event follows Liv (Coleman) and Will (Jackson-Cohen), a married couple who go on a road trip in the US in a bid to repair their relationship following his infidelity. Though the trip is seemingly undertaken with the aim of recovery, it seems that Liv has something else in mind.
Jackdaw currently has no release date. Wilderness is currently streaming on Prime Video.
