Disney has invited us back into the Haunted Mansion with the spooky first teaser for the new remake of the classic theme park attraction.

The new take on the story sees a woman and her son enlist a motley crew of so-called spiritual experts to help rid their home of the supernatural squatters they find when they move there.

As you can see from the first teaser, it doesn't exactly seem to be going to plan – and we imagine things are only going to get spookier.

Check out the first trailer for Haunted Mansion below:

Haunted Mansion has been directed by Justin Simien, a self-confessed "lifelong fan" of the popular attraction.

"Our team has worked tirelessly to create a scary, funny and cinematic otherworldly adventure for both new and die-hard fans to enjoy! I can't wait for audiences to experience this big screen version of the iconic Disney attraction," he said.

We knew the trailer was coming today as Disney unveiled the first poster for the movie yesterday (March 1), which you can check out below:

Haunted Mansion teams up Marvel stars Rosario Dawson and Owen Wilson with Chase Dillon, LaKeith Stanfield, Danny DeVito and Tiffany Haddish – although obviously don't expect an Eddie Murphy cameo.

As well as the aforementioned actors, there's also Stranger Things star Winona Ryder and Schitt's Creek's Dan Levy, as well as Jared Leto (who was Morbius) and Jamie Lee Curtis (who is all of us).

Maybe this time, Disney has done justice to the attraction and it'll likely be down to Simien's past: "It was the best summer job I ever had, and anytime I wasn't working on the ride I was supposed to, I'd ride Pirates and my favourite ride, the Haunted Mansion."

Haunted Mansion will be released on July 28 in US cinemas and on August 11 in UK cinemas.
