Kinds of Kindness, the new film starring Emma Stone, has released its mysterious first trailer.

The film marks the third collaboration between Stone and director Yorgos Lanthimos following The Favourite and Poor Things, with their latest venture being an anthology film set for release in June.

The trailer, soundtracked to Eurythmics' ‘Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)’, begins with Stone’s character racing around in a sports car before narrating: “This is it - the moment of truth. Isn’t it wonderful?”

The trailer also features a brief clip of Stone dancing, whilst Margaret Qualley gives Jesse Plemons a slap. There’s also a brief snippet of a body being dragged into a room as well as some peculiar antics involving Hong Chau, who is seen licking a body.

In addition to the aforementioned stars, the stacked cast for the film includes Willem Dafoe, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie and Hunter Schafer, but it remains to be seen how - and which - characters are connected.

“Kinds of Kindness is a triptych fable with segments following a man without choice who tries to take control of his life,” reads the logline for the film, which Lanthimos co-wrote with Efthimis Filippou, with whom he worked with on Dogtooth, The Lobster and The Killing of a Sacred Deer.

The other stories will focus on a “policeman who is alarmed that his wife who was missing at sea has returned and seems to be a different person; and a woman who is determined to find a specific someone destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader.”

Though Kinds of Kindness is Stone and Lanthimos’ third collaboration, their creative partnership shows no signs of slowing down, with the duo also rumoured to be teaming up for a remake of the South Korean film, Save the Green Planet.

Kinds of Kindness is scheduled to be released in cinemas on June 21 in the US and June 28 in the UK.
