First reactions land for Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell's rom-com
The first reactions have landed for Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell's new rom-com Anyone But You.
Directed by Will Gluck, the film stars Sweeney and Powell as Bea and Ben, whose initial spark fizzles into frostiness despite an amazing first date.
However, they're soon thrust into each other's lives again at a mutual friend's destination wedding in Australia, where they pretend to be a couple to keep up appearances.
The ensemble also features Barbie's Alexandra Shipp, Star Trek: Picard's Michelle Hurd, The Wilds' Rachel Griffiths, Secret Invasion's Dermot Mulroney, and Bryan Brown.

Going by the first reactions on X (formerly Twitter), Sweeney and Powell may have a big hit on their hands.
"It’s a charming riff on Much Ado About Nothing, complete with all of the silly and comforting nonsense you’d want from the one theatrical rom-com we get every year," IndieWire's David Ehrlich wrote. "Great supporting cast. Not sure if anyone has ever said this before but Glen Powell should star in movies as a job."
Multiverse of Color's Lady Jenevia also had high praise for the film, writing: "It gave me EVERYTHING I've been demanding to see from a new modern literary adaptation rom-com for MONTHS on my channel. Glen Powell & Sydney Sweeney UNDERSTOOD THE ASSIGNMENT."
The Movie Podcast's Shahbaz Siddiqui said Anyone But You "offers an unexpectedly great time", adding that Sweeney and Powell have "electrifying chemistry" and the film is "reminiscent of an early 2000s rom-com".
"#AnyoneButYou is sexy, hilarious, and a feel good time at the movies. Sydney Sweeney & Glen Powell are undeniable together and clearly having a blast," fellow The Movie Podcast host Daniel Baptista wrote.
"It’s the right kind of cheesy and the perfect date night movie. Easily one of the best romantic comedies in years!"
Anyone But You will be released in UK on December 26, while in the US it will arrive on December 22.
