A first look at Sex Education star Aimee Lou Wood in her upcoming new movie has been unveiled.

The actress, who plays Aimee Gibbs on the Netflix show, is due to star in Seize Them! alongside Nicola Coughlan (Bridgerton, Derry Girls), Lolly Adefope (Ghosts) and Shaun of the Dead duo Nick Frost and Jessica Hynes.

The first image for the film, which was published by Entertainment Film, shows Wood as Queen Dagan sporting a crown and a red dress.

The film, which is being directed by Curtis Vowell, sees Queen Dagan toppled by a revolution led by Humble Joan (Coughlan), forcing her to go into hiding. While on the run, she teams up with former servant Shulmay (Adefope) in order to win back her crown and place on the throne.

Wood, who starred alongside Bill Nighy in Living last year, further revealed that Seize Them! would be “silly” and irreverent, saying: “There are so many poo jokes, there is so much silliness. I have never laughed so much on a set.”

“Our director Curtis [Vowell] kept being like, 'Come on Aimee', because I couldn't get through certain scenes because they would be making me laugh so much, particularly Lolly and Nick Frost,” she continued, before discussing the arduous filming process.

“There was a lot of hiking up hills and rain and sleet and being freezing and being covered in mud and sheep shit, so it was a challenge. I definitely could have slept for a thousand years after we finished filming it.”

Wood recently discussed the upcoming fourth season of Sex Education, teasing that it could be a turbulent time for her character.

“She’s not got her best friend with her, she’s not got a boyfriend for the first time ever,” she said. “Also, she’s at this new school and she doesn’t have any mates. But what’s so amazing is that through art, Aimee finds something that connects her to herself.”

Sex Education seasons 1-3 are streaming on Netflix. Season 4 is currently in production. Seize Them! does not yet have a confirmed release date
