First look at Natalie Portman in new Apple TV+ series
Apple TV+ has unveiled a first look at May December star Natalie Portman in upcoming thriller series Lady in the Lake and confirmed its premiere date.
Set to premiere on the streaming site on July 19, 2024, the Lady in the Lake is described as a "a feverish noir thriller and an unexpected tale of the price women pay for their dreams."
Set in Baltimore 1966 during Thanksgiving, the limited series follows the story of two women whose lives converge in a "fatal collision course."
Portman stars as Maddie Schwartz, a housewife and mother who is keen to reinvent herself as an investigative journalist while also shedding a secret past.

She stars alongside Obi-Wan Kenobi star Moses Ingram, who is playing the role of Cleo Sherwood, a hardworking mother who is juggling work and providing for her family while advocating for Baltimore's Black progressive agenda.
Their lives seem worlds apart at first, however when Maddie becomes obsessed with Cleo's mysterious death she finds herself on a collision course which puts everyone around them "in danger."
Y'lan Noel (The First Purge), Brett Gelman (Stranger Things), Byron Bowers, Noah Jupe (A Quiet Place: Part Two), Josiah Cross (Masters of the Air), Mikey Madison (2022's Scream) and Pruitt Taylor Vince (The Walking Dead) also star in the series.

Alma Har'el has directed the series, which is based on Laura Lippman's 2019 bestselling novel of the same name. July's premiere will see the series' first two episodes land on the streaming site, with subsequent episodes landing weekly until August 23, 2024.
Portman has also executive produced the series alongside Sophie Mas, Nathan Ross and Jean-Marc Vallée for Crazyrose, Julie Gardner for Bad Wolf, Amy J. Kaufman and Layne Eskridge for POV Entertainment, Boaz Yakin and Lippman.
Lady in the Lake will premiere on July 19, 2024 on Apple TV+
