Coyote vs ACME has gotten its first-look image, featuring Lana Condor, Will Forte and, of course, Wile E Coyote.

Eric Bauza, who voices Road Runner's arch-enemy as well as a whole host of other Looney Tunes favourites, released an image of the three characters in court to his Twitter/X page.

"See ya in 2024!!" he wrote, alongside a load of emojis and the film's hashtag.

The film sees the unlucky cartoon coyote team up with a human lawyer in order to take on the famous Acme Corporation over its notoriously bad products.

Perhaps more interesting than the film's actual plot is its behind-the-scenes storyline. The film was shelved by Warner Bros in order to get a tax write-down, despite being finished and having recognisable names like John Cena in the cast and James Gunn on production and story duties.

Unlike Batgirl and Scoob! Holiday Haunt, which were similarly written off, the fan backlash actually caused the studio to reverse its decision and allow the film to go to a different distributor for release. A date or distributor have not been publicly announced at the time of writing.

Responding to the now-reversed shelving, director Dave Green said: "For three years, I was lucky enough to make a movie about Wile E Coyote, the most persistent, passionate, and resilient character of all time.

"I was surrounded by a brilliant team, who poured their souls into this project for years. We were all determined to honour the legacies of these historic characters and actually get them right.

"Along the ride, we were embraced by test audiences who rewarded us with fantastic scores. I am beyond proud of the final product, and beyond devastated by WB's decision. But in the spirit of Wile E Coyote, resilience and persistence win the day."
