Finestkind, the new film starring Jenna Ortega, has released its first look.

The crime drama sees Ortega star alongside Tommy Lee Jones, Ben Foster and Toby Wallace, with the story following two estranged brothers who hatch a deal with a crime syndicate in Boston.

The first image for the film, which is being directed by Brian Helgeland, sees the quartet posing in character in a rundown area, and was revealed as part of an announcement from the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

The film will get its world premiere at the major festival, which runs for 11 days (7th to 17th) in September. Though there is no exact date for its premiere yet, fans won’t have to wait long, with the festival announcing their programme on August 15.

Ortega, who has appeared in the Scream franchise, shot to major fame after playing Wednesday Addams on Netflix series Wednesday, but the actress revealed that she almost didn’t accept the part.

“I got the email [and I] passed on it,” she said. “I had done so much TV in my life, all I've ever wanted to do is film. The only reason I went back is because [executive producer] Tim [Burton] is such a legend, and we just happened to get along very well. But even then I said, 'Ah, no – I think I’m OK,' a couple times.”

Ortega will serve as an executive producer for the second season of Wednesday, and teased that her newfound role will see romance take a backseat in future episodes.

“We're ditching any romantic love interest for Wednesday, which is really great,” she said. “We've decided we want to lean into the horror aspect of the show a little bit more. “A show like this, with vampires, werewolves and superpowers, you don't want to take yourself too seriously.”

Finestkind will premiere at TIFF in September. Wednesday streams on Netflix – season 2 has been confirmed.
