Upcoming horror movie Bad Things, starring GLOW's Gayle Rankin, has been acquired by Shudder.

The film from director Stewart Thorndike will premiere at Tribeca Film Festival and land on the horror streaming platform, where it will become available from August 25.

Produced by Shiva Baby's Lizzie Shapiro and Chestnut's Lexi Tannenholtz, this horror puts a bloody spin to a weekend getaway when a group of friends go to a hotel only to discover that women do terrible things there.

We're not sure yet what kind of bad things the title allude to, but it sure doesn't seem like a spa day and indulging in a wine tasting are it judging from a first-look image of Rankin's character covered in blood.

The cast is rounded out by Barbie's Hari Nef, Succession's Annabelle Dexter-Jones, Betty's Rad Pereira, Ramy's Jared Abrahamson and Molly Ringwald.

"With Bad Things, I wanted to create a world of women and non-binary people who shake off polite conditionings and finally roar," director Thorndike said in a statement.

"Where are all the female Travis Bickles and Jack Torrances? Bad Things answers that with Ruthie Nodd," the filmmaker continued, alluding to Rankin's protagonist.

"At the heart of Bad Things is a dark celebration of motherhood and all its splendid viscera. Shudder were the perfect partners for this tale of female rage."

Executive producers for the film include David Harari, Caroline Kaplan and George Rush of PCG Pictures, Gus Deardoff of The Space Program, George A. Loucas and Matthew Dean Russell of Baked Studios and Amy Williams, who also served as production designer on the film.

Rankin, also seen in The Greatest Showman and Men, had her big break with the role of Sheila the She-Wolf on Netflix's gone-too-soon wrestling show GLOW. After being initially confirmed for a fourth and final season, the series, also starring Alison Brie and Betty Gilpin, became one of the casualties of the streamer who didn't renew it back in 2020.

Bad Things will start streaming on Shudder on August 25.
