First look at Coronation Street star Connor McIntyre's new movie
The first look at Coronation Street star Connor McIntyre's new film Our Kid has been revealed, ahead of its screening at Raindance Film Festival.
Directed by Sean Cronin, Our Kid will screen on October 29 as part of the festival, and follows 12-year-old Laura Reilly (Poppie Jae Hughes), whose biggest goal is to play for Liverpool when she grows up.
McIntyre, who played villain Pat Phelan in soap Coronation Street, appears as the father of Laura and her older brother Thomas, who has cerebral palsy.
The film is based on award-winning 2016 short film Thomas, in which the Reilly family are forced to adapt their whole lives when dealt some devastating news.

The trailer and first look pictures have given viewers a sneak peek at Laura's football-mad childhood, eclectic family life and even the film's heartbreaking twist.
The film's official synopsis reads:
"Twelve-year-old Laura’s goal in life is to one day play football professionally. Laura has many footballing heroes, but it’s her older brother Thomas who’s her biggest hero.
"His inspirational quest to raise money for charity through a sponsored bike ride, while overcoming the challenges he faces from his cerebral palsy, shows Laura and the rest of the community what determination and perseverance can achieve."

Brookside's John McArdle appears as grandad Allan, who only communicates through 'dad jokes' and Daniel P. Lewis, who also wrote the script (along with its 2016 inspiration), stars as Thomas in his debut feature performance.
Further cast members include Ricky Tomlinson, Leanne Best, Mark Moraghan and Louis Emerick.
Our Kid is scheduled for an industry screening as part of Raindance Film Festival on October 29, at Curzon Mayfair. Tickets are available now.
