First Farmers Bank & Trust needs runners for Dino Dash fundraiser. Can your company help?

LAFAYETTE, Ind. — First Farmers Bank & Trust called out all Lafayette businesses to participate in its first Dinosaur Dash fundraiser as part of Mosey Down Main Street on June 8.

The dinosaur dash event will raise funds for the National Alliance on Mental Illness West Central Indiana, with Lafayette businesses selecting one member from their companies to run in a 100-meter-long race.

Racers will wear a dinosaur costume, which will be provided by First Farmers Bank & Trust, as they race down Main Street to see which business employs the faster prehistoric dino.

"We’re so excited to bring the Dinosaur Dash to Lafayette and encourage businesses across the city to take part in all the fun, while raising money for a good cause,” Vice President, Senior Commercial Lender Tim VanderPlaats said in a news release.

“As sponsors of this year’s Mosey Down Main Street, First Farmers Bank & Trust is dedicated to supporting this city and providing the best financial services possible for the Lafayette community," VanderPlaats said. "This race is another step in showing that community banking is not extinct in Lafayette.”

To participate in the event, the suggested donation for businesses to participate is $150, with all donations going directly to the National Alliance on Mental Illness West Central Indiana.

The deadline to register for the Dinosaur Dash is May 15 and donations should be mailed or dropped off at the downtown Lafayette branch of First Farmers Bank & Trust at 639 Main St.

Businesses interested in participating in the event should register their business at ffbt.formstack.com/forms/dino_dash.

Winners of the event will receive a conversation-starting trophy, additional exposure through a joint video and commercial with First Farmers Bank and the bragging rights to say that their business employs the fastest dinosaur in the city.
