Fireworks, live music and more. Here’s what’s going on in Middle Georgia for July 4

With July 4 just around the corner, people across Middle Georgia are getting ready to celebrate the national holiday. Here’s a list of events in the area on Independence Day.

Sparks at the Park

Macon’s Sparks in the Park event returns to Lake Tobesofkee this year for its 26th iteration. The event features outdoor activities like swimming and boating, as well as a performance by the Travis Bryant Band. The fireworks show begins at 9:15 p.m.

When: July 4, gates open at 9 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

Where: Lake Tobesofkee

Cost: $3, kids under six admitted for free

Warner Robins Independence Day Celebration

The city of Warner Robins will host ConFunkShun, Atlanta Rhythm Section and Company of Crows in concert for its 39th Annual Independence Day Celebration. The concert will be followed by a fireworks display.

When: July 2 at 5 p.m.

Where: McConnell Talbert Stadium parking lot in Warner Robins

Cost: Free

Centerville Independence Day Celebration

The city of Centerville is also hosting a July 4 event featuring food trucks, live music and fireworks. Lawn chairs are encouraged for the celebration, which also features a DJ and an illusionist performance.

When: July 4 from 6-10 p.m.

Where: Center Park in Centerville

Cost: Free admission

Perry Chamber Freedom Fireworks

A picnic-style celebration at Perry Fairgrounds will also feature fireworks and food trucks. The event also includes the presentation of the 2022 Hometown Hero award for Perry.

When: July 4 from 6-9 p.m.

Where: Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter

Cost: Free

Freedom for All Solidarity 5K

This 5K run/walk is sponsored by Freedom For All, an organization focused on confronting racial injustice and promoting inclusion. The 5K includes a standard race packet and runs a route through downtown Macon.

When: July 4, registration at 8 a.m., race at 9 a.m.

Where: The Tubman Museum in downtown Macon

Cost: $25

Macon Bacon v.s Savannah Bananas

The Macon Bacon will host the famous Savannah Bananas for a July 4 matchup followed by fireworks. There’s sure to be plenty of gags and family fun at the ballpark for Independence Day.

When: July 4 at 7 p.m.

Where: Luther Williams Field in Central City Park

Cost: Tickets starting at $35

Soul and RnB Freedom Fest

Multiple DJs and a soul band will be on hand for this nighttime event celebrating the Fourth. Tickets can be purchased online, at Habersham Records in Macon or at Jacko’s Hair Force in Warner Robins.

When: July 3, doors at 6:30, show starts at 7:30

Where: Carey W. Martin Conference Center in Warner Robins

Cost: $25 for general tickets, VIP starting at $40
