A fire forced this Endicott bakery to temporarily close: What to know

An Endicott bakery will be temporarily closed following a fire early Thursday morning.

Crews responded to Baked! by Camille on Watson Boulevard shortly after 7 a.m. where a fire had broken out in the apartment above the bakery.

In a Facebook post Thursday, bakery owner Camille Ciotoli said the blaze was caused by an electrical fire, and the business would be temporarily closed.

"Everyone is okay and hopefully clean up can be done quickly so we can be up and running again," read the post, which went on to thank commenters for their support. As of 4 p.m. Thursday, 31 people had commented on the post and it had been shared 18 times.

For any customers with upcoming orders, Ciotoli said she would be reaching out to make arrangements.

Baked! by Camille has been housed at the Watson Boulevard location, originally built for a barbershop, since 2014. Ciotoli has run the bakery business at other locations in the area since 1992.
