SimpliSafe Security System

  • $249, $100 off retail

A home security system is great to have, even if you don’t necessarily own your home. If you do own property, however, getting a professionally monitored system installed on the premises could get you a homeowners insurance discount.

And if it doesn’t? You still benefit from the peace of mind knowing you’ve got motion sensors, cameras, video doorbells, and the works keeping your home — and family — safe from potential intruders.

Costco sells several types of home security systems, so if you’re a member there, you could pick up something at a decent price. Take the 13-piece SimpliSafe Home Security Kit as an example.

“This home security system is smart, it’s easy to set up and there’s no contract required to use it. At Costco, it’s a steal at $249, $100 off retail,” said David Bakke, consumer shopping expert at DollarSanity.

It has largely positive reviews as well with a 4.6 star rating. It comes with complete control via the SimpliSafe app, has 24-7 monitoring, and is compatible with other smart home systems.

This kit includes the base station, a smart alarm wireless indoor security camera, a smash-safe keypad, a wireless outdoor security camera, entry sensors for your windows and doors, and motion sensors.

LG 35″ Widescreen Computer Monitor

  • $349.99

While not on sale, LG’s 35″ UltraWide Computer Monitor only costs $349.99 and is well worth the price if the over 3,000 positive customer reviews are any indication.

“This is an amazing monitor if you need one for home use,” said Bakke. “It’s huge, it’s curved for viewing pleasure, and it’s HD.”

This monitor features 3440 x 1440 resolution, a 100 hertz refresh rate and a 5ms response time. It also has AMD FreeSync technology, which cuts down on issues like input latency, stuttering during highly intensive gameplay or videos, and screen tearing.

And if all of that isn’t enough, this monitor also includes a display port, USB 3.0, and HDMI cables. Plus, it’s eligible for free shipping and handling when purchased online.

Apple MacBook Pro Laptop

  • $1,399.99, $150 off retail

Need a snazzy new laptop? Check out the 14″ MacBook Pro laptop from Costco.

Not only does it have responsive unified memory — and storage — but it also boasts a brilliant display with Extreme Dynamic Range and plenty of modes to choose from as you do your work. It’s supercharged with an 8-core CPU and a 10-core GPU (with hardware-accelerated ray tracing) so it can handle any project you throw at it.

Plus, this machine is fully compatible with Adobe Creative Cloud, Apple Xcode, Medivis SurgicalAR, and an array of iPad and iPhone apps. It also comes with a built-in camera and audio so you can use it for webcalls or streaming without worrying about poor image or sound quality.

“Watch out for discounts on the MacBook Pro,” said Nick Drewe, consumer savings expert and CEO of Wethrift. “Costco offers exceptional bundle deals that includes accessories like AirPods, making it a worthwhile investment.”

Normally, this highly-rated machine costs $1,549.99. But it’s currently on sale for $1,399.99 — that’s $150 off.

Klipsch Wireless Subwoofer

  • $199.99, $50 off retail

If you want to upgrade your home audio system, check out the Klipsch Wireless Subwoofer from Costco. It has a classic cube-shaped design and offers solid performance at a reasonable price point.

It also has a wireless transmitter, meaning you won’t have to worry about organizing a bunch of cords. Despite being wireless, however, it syncs smoothly and automatically to prevent any delays or degraded bass performance.

Normally, it costs $249.99. But right now, it’s $50 off and only costs $199.99.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 6

  • $359.99, $60 off retail

Samsung is one of those brands that partners with Costco and often has discounts, so it’s worth checking out what’s on offer.

“From my professional experience, I would specifically look into [Costco’s] offers on brands like Samsung and HP, which have historically partnered with Costco for exclusive deals,” said Russell Rosario, an industry analyst and the co-founder of Profit Leap. “Checking back regularly and keeping an eye on the store’s coupon books and online deals can lead to significant savings.”

One such item is the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6.

This watch has a timeless, iconic look that complements almost any style. It also boasts the latest smartwatch features, including sleep tracking technology, calorie and heart rate monitoring, your BMI, and goal tracking. It can also track upwards of 90 different exercises. You can even use it to call for help in times of emergency — such as if you’re running on the trails and suffer a fall.

Plus, the Galaxy Watch 6 boasts more memory and quite a few other features older models just don’t have. You will need a Samsung phone in order to use certain health features, but it’s easy to set up and pair with your devices. You don’t even need a subscription for most of it.

It currently costs $359.99, $60 off its original online price.
