Will Ferrell Revives Ron Burgundy at Tom Brady Roast: ‘You’ll Always Be Remembered as Eli Manning’s Bitch’

“San Diago’s” No. 1 news anchor Ron Burgundy appeared at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum Sunday for Netflix’s live Roast of Tom Brady and boy, did the “living legend” deliver.

The character (played by Will Ferrell in the 2004 comedy and its 2013 sequel) basked in the limelight as he ribbed “the Knickerbockers” and host Kevin Hart before turning his sights on the former pro footballer.

“Holy s–t, this man is gorgeous,” Burgundy said. “I’ve seen him on TV before but in person, e chihuahua! Look at those cheek bones!”

Burgundy pressured himself to “pull it together,” as he was tempted to lose himself in Brady’s looks. “He’s making you question your sexuality,” he said to himself. “Stop looking at him. You’re here to make fun of him, not fall in love. Concentrate!”

The news anchor then called Brady the most boring quarterback, as he made jokes about Gisele Bundchen, Bill Belichick, Brady’s “golden skin” and more. But the night’s best jab occurred when Burgundy brought up the QB’s relationship with Eli Manning.

“I mean, let’s be honest,” he added. “Your best years are behind you, Tom. The Super Bowls, Gisele, your movie career, it’s all done, it’s all gone. But you won’t be forgotten, you’ll always be remembered as Eli Manning’s bitch. Don’t let that get you down, Tom.”

Burgundy continued to call Brady a “dead robot of a quarterback,” while he kept reminding himself that he “hates” him.

The Roast of Tom Brady is now available to stream on Netflix.
