FedEx driver shot in Alabama during road rage incident

An investigation is underway into the shooting of a FedEx driver Monday morning after a road rage incident in Alabama.

The victim got into an argument with another driver who then pulled out a gun and shot at, and inevitably struck, the FedEx driver, The Birmingham News reports.

The incident occurred in the southbound lanes of I-59/20 at Red Mountain Expressway by Carraway Boulevard in downtown Birmingham, according to the outlet.

Authorities were dispatched to the reported shooting at 10:45 a.m., according to the outlet.

Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service confirmed to the paper that the caller had reported the victim, whose identity was not released, had been shot in the leg.

The FedEx driver was transported to a local hospital, according to the paper.
