New Fast-Food Items To Try

Fast-food restaurants are always innovating (and competing), and that means there's always some new menu item to try. McDonald's, Starbucks, Chick-fil-A, Taco Bell, Subway, and other big chains introduce limited-time offerings regularly to entice customers to keep coming back. Here's what's new this month in the fast-food world.

Burger King fiery big fish sandwich — Burger King

1. Burger King: Fiery Menu

Cheesy Tots are back at Burger King. They're just like they sound: deep fried potato bites filled with cheese. Plus, there are some new spicy menu items, including the return of a popular Lenten fish sandwich.

2. Pizza Hut: Hot Honey Pizza and Wings

Pizza Hut's Hot Honey Pizza is topped with regular and crispy cupped pepperoni and drizzled with a sweet sauce that's infused with habaneros and honey. You can also get the same sweet hot sauce on boneless or bone-in wings.

3. Taco Bell: Cheesy Chicken Crispanada

Taco Bell just announced all kinds of new items for 2024, but you'll have to wait patiently for most of them, including the giant Cheez-It Crunchwrap. Right now though, you can get the Cheesy Chicken Crispanada, the chain's version of an empanada filled with shredded chicken and cheese in a crispy shell.

4. McDonald's: WcDonald's Sauce, Shamrock Shake

McDonald's has lots of new things this month, including a festive favorite.

Shamrock Shake: a St. Patrick's Day fan favorite that blends vanilla soft serve with mint flavor
Oreo Shamrock McFlurry: vanilla soft serve blended with mint flavor and Oreo pieces

5. Arby's: Brown Sugar Bacon Menu, Fish Sandwiches

There are all kinds of new items at Arby's this month, including some returning favorites for seafood season.

6. Dunkin': Churro Lineup

Out with the Valentine's Day menu at Dunkin', and in with the new Latin America-inspired lineup.

7. Wendy's: Cinnabon Pull-Apart

Wendy's latest menu addition will satisfy your sweet tooth. The Cinnabon Pull-Apart is made with buttery dough bites baked together with Cinnabon cinnamon in a cup and topped with cream cheese frosting. (Keep your eyes open for the Orange Dreamsicle Frosty around mid-March for another sweet treat.) Plus, the Crispy Panko Fish Sandwich is back.

8. Papa Johns: Calzone Papa Bites

There are two new items at Papa Johns for March. The first are Calzone Papa Bites, stuffed with mozzarella, ricotta, pepperoni, sausage, and green peppers. Plus, the Cheesy Calzone Epic Stuffed Crust is still available as well.

White Castle shrimp nibblers — White Castle

9. White Castle: Fish Sliders and Shrimp Nibblers

It's seafood season at White Castle, and there are three new items you can grab.

Fish Sliders: breaded Alaskan pollock topped with your choice of cheese
Shrimp Nibblers: bite-sized butterflied shrimp in a crispy batter coating. Also available in a spicy Sriracha version
Clam Strips: lightly breaded fried surf clams

Dairy Queen sauced chicken strips basket — Dairy Queen

10. Dairy Queen: Sauced and Tossed Chicken Strips Basket

Chicken tender lovers have a new reason to head to Dairy Queen this month. You can now get your chicken strips tossed in one of two sauces: honey BBQ and parmesan garlic. Both baskets come with fries and dipping sauce. On the sweet side, look for the Mint Brownie Blizzard and the Confetti Cake dipped cone.

11. Hardee's: Hand-Breaded Chicken Tender Wraps

Hardee's has brought back its Lenten favorite Panko Breaded Fish Sandwich made with pollock. Plus, the chain is entering the popular chicken tender wrap market with three new Hand-Breaded Chicken Tender Wraps, all wrapped in flour tortillas.

You can find all kinds of new menu items at Sonic this month, from fish to barbecue.

13. Panera: Sourdough Melts

There are two new cheesy melts at Panera this month, both grilled on crusty sourdough bread slices. The Bacon Avocado Melt includes smoked bacon, avocado slices, smoked gouda cheese, everything bagel seasoning, and chipotle aioli, while the Southwest Chicken Melt features smoked pulled chicken, smoked gouda, red onion, cilantro, and chipotle aioli. You might not want to get too attached to the melts though, because they might be on the chopping block when Panera overhauls its menu next month.

14. Del Taco: Seafood Menu

Even Del Taco isn't immune to the springtime seafood trend. Here's what's new.

Seafood is back at Popeyes for spring. The Flounder Fish Sandwich has a crispy battered flounder fillet topped with pickles and tartar sauce, or you can get the spicy version with spicy mayo instead of tartar. Plus, the Shrimp Tackle Box is back.

16. Chick-fil-A: Tortilla Soup, Mango Passion Drinks

Goodbye, Honey Pepper Pimento Chicken Sandwich, we hardly knew you. But now there's room for Chick-fil-A's seasonal menu items.

Tortilla Soup: creamy soup with vegetables, spices, shredded chicken, beans, and tortilla strips

17. Zaxby's: Asian Zensation Zalad and Egg Rolls

Asian specialties are back at Zaxby's. The Asian Zensation salad includes fried or grilled chicken fingers on top of mixed greens, red cabbage, carrots, crispy wonton strips, Asian slaw in honey sesame teriyaki glaze, and a citrus vinaigrette dressing. It comes with a veggie egg roll, which you can also order separately.

18. Whataburger: Boneless WhataWings

Brand new boneless chicken wings have debuted at Whataburger. They're appropriately called WhataWings, and they're made with white meat chicken in a crunchy fried coating. You can get them dry, or tossed in Buffalo, honey butter, honey BBQ, or sweet and spicy sauces. Plus, the Whatacatch fish sandwich is back for spring.

19. Little Caesars: Stuffed Crazy Crust Pizza

Things are extra "crazy" at Little Caesars right now with two new menu items. The Stuffed Crazy Crust Pizza is the chain's stuffed crust pizza with Crazy Bread garlic butter and parmesan seasoning brushed around the crust. Plus, you can still get the Stuffed Crazy Bread that includes a melted mozzarella stuffing and marinara for dipping. If that's not enough, Slices-N-Stix pizza is back in three varieties: original with pepperoni, bacon, and jalapeno.

Jack in the Box fish wraps — Jack in the Box

20. Jack in the Box: Fish Sandwich and Wraps

Not to be left in the dust by every other chain, Jack in the Box has brought back its fish sandwich as well. It's made with a panko-breaded fish fillet topped with lettuce and tartar sauce. But brand new this year are two Fish Wraps, made with fried pollock fillets in a tortilla wrap with lettuce, cheese, tartar sauce, and either pickles or jalapenos. Plus, you can grab new churro french toast sticks rolled in cinnamon sugar.

Jimmy jonh's cajun chicken sandwich — Jimmy John's

21. Jimmy John's: Kickin' Cajun Chicken

There's a new sub in town at Jimmy John's. The Kickin' Cajun Chicken sandwich has chicken, provolone, Creole chili pepper sauce, crispy jalapenos, Jimmy pepper, lettuce, mayo, and vinegar. You can also get it as a wrap in garlic and herb flatbread. Plus, you can get red velvet cookies and brownies to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Noodles and Company Chicken Prosciutto Tortelloni with Smoked Gouda — Noodles & Company

22. Noodles & Company: Chicken Prosciutto Tortelloni

There's a brand new noodle bowl at Noodles & Co.: Chicken Prosciutto Tortelloni with Smoked Gouda. The stuffed pasta is filled with chicken and prosciutto, and topped with spinach, mushrooms, and a smoked gouda cheese sauce.

23. Subway: Footlong Chocolate Chip Cookie

Footlong cookies made their debut at Subway last year, but they were only at a few locations for one day. Now the Footlong Chocolate Chip Cookies are back nationwide. There's also two footlong sidekicks joining them this month to satisfy all your mall food court cravings: the Cinnabon Footlong Churro and the Auntie Anne's Footlong Pretzel.

24. KFC: Chizza

KFC is no slouch when it comes to outrageous menu items, and they just debuted a doozy. The Chizza (rhymes with pizza) is a cross between fried chicken and pizza, and it seems just as silly as it sounds. Fried chicken strips are topped with marinara sauce, melted mozzarella, and pepperoni. Alrighty then.

25. Qdoba: Citrus Lime Shrimp

You can get your seafood fix at Qdoba this year. Citrus lime shrimp is back as a protein choice for all your burritos, tacos, and even the Loaded Tortilla Soup, which is back for a limited time as well.

26. Shake Shack: Korean-Inspired Lineup

Things are heating up at Shake Shack for the chilly weather. Here's everything that's on the new "swicy" (sweet-spicy) Korean menu.

Korean-Style Fried Chicken Sandwich: crispy chicken breast coated in a gochujang glaze, topped with white kimchi slaw and sesame seeds

Panda Express wants you to skip the fast-food fish sandwich and opt for its Firecracker Shrimp stir fry instead. It's made with wok-fired shrimp, green beans, onions, and bell peppers in a Sichuan-inspired sauce.

28. Culver's: Northwoods Walleye

Culver's has some of the best fast-food fish around, and one fan favorite is back for Lent. The Northwoods Walleye is battered, fried and served as a sandwich with tartar sauce and lettuce, or as a dinner with two sides, tartar sauce, and a roll. Fried cod and shrimp are always available as well.

29. Church's: Fish Sandwich and Platter

Church's seafood season offerings include fish and shrimp. The fish sandwich has a pollock fillet breaded in panko and topped with tartar sauce and pickles. You can also get fried pollock as a platter with fries, tartar sauce, and a biscuit. Plus, the lemon cheesecake fried pie is back for a refreshing end to your meal.

30. Taco John's: Flounder Fish Tacos

Get your fish taco fix at Taco John's this month. They're made with wild-caught Alaskan flounder fried in a crispy batter and drizzled with spicy, creamy Fiesta sauce, lettuce, and pico de gallo in a flour tortilla.
