The Fashion Trust U.S. Held a Cocktail Event to Celebrate the 2024 Finalists

Last night, The Fashion Trust U.S. (FTUS) hosted a cocktail event in celebration of the finalists for the second annual FTUS Awards. The ceremony will take place on April 9 in Los Angeles.

There were eight hosts at the evening’s festivities, retired stylist Law Roach, fashion writer Tania Fares, VIP ambassador of Roger Vivier Paris and L.A. ambassador of Rick Owens Anne Crawford, senior global consumer marketing and commerce director at Google/Fashion Tech Connects co-founder Stephanie Horton, celebrity stylist Petra Flannery, jewelry designer Jennifer Meyer, designer Ugo Mozie, and artist/writer/designer Alex Israel.

The finalists were selected by FTUS, Shop with Google, and some of the advisory board members. The winners will receive financial support, as well as mentorship from leaders in the industry. There are four different categories to be nominated in: Ready-to-Wear, Jewelry, Graduate, and the newly-added Accessories category.

The nominees for Ready-to-Wear are Batsheva Hay of Batsheva, Charles Harbison of Harbison Studio, Jack Miner of Interior, and Jackson Wiederhoeft of Wiederhoeft.

In the Jewelry category are Ashley Harris of Don’t Let Disco, Jade Ruzzo, MoAnA Luu of ManLuu, and Mia Vesper of VESPER OBSCURA.

For Graduate, Clara Son, Kelsey Ann Kasom, Madelen Nyau of T1TAN STUDIO, and Yamil Arbaje are nominated.

Lastly, in the Accessories category, Wilglory Tanjong of Anima Iris, Rowell Concepcion of Binata Millinery, Esha Soni, and Marie Laffont are all competing.

All finalists in all categories are also considered for the Sustainability and Inclusivity Awards.

Shop with Google, the sponsor for the 2024 award show as well as the Inclusivity and Ready-to-Wear Awards, will be granting all of the winners access to a Google mentorship program in partnership with the FTUS. The program will provide expert training on retail industry trends, branding, and funding in an effort to encourage diversity, talent, and culture in the American fashion world.

Nominees will present their designs to the FTUS panel at the award ceremony in April, and a total of six winners will be chosen.

According the FTUS, “Fashion Trust U.S. was established to provide business and financial support to U.S. based designers through grants and strategic mentoring. FTUS board members are Tania Fares, Laura Brown, Anne Crawford, Maha Dakhil, Tan France and Karla Welch. With additional support from Advisory board members and Ambassadors from the industry that joined so far with additional names to join.

“The Fashion Trust receives applications from designers within the US (Ready-to-Wear, Jewelry, Accessories and Graduate) who have been operating between two to seven years, outlining what part of their business they would like to develop – from strategy and finance to e-commerce and merchandising. Grant recipients are subject to a rigorous selection process by an external panel of high-profile industry members in collaboration with the Fashion Trust board.”
