Just watch the following to see what we mean!

These adorable duckies are just jumping right into their sink pond to enjoy some wriggly worms! They are so cute and I love how they have a plastic duckie with them!

If you've always wanted your own little duck (or five!) read on to see how to care for ducklings.

How To Care For Ducklings

Galloway farms has an excellent beginner's guide to caring for ducklings and they say, first and foremost, when getting a pet duck, you'll need to get at least 2. Ducks are very social and need other duck friends to prevent them from becoming lonely. 2-4 is a good starting number when purchasing ducklings. You'll also want to keep in mind the male to female ratio when picking out your ducks. They also explain that you'll want to make sure they are eating and drinking well once they are established in their brooder. Ducklings drink A LOT of water (plus they like to splash it out of their waterer) so be prepared to refill the waterer AND clean their bedding constantly.

Another things to keep in mind is that ducklings have the biggest appetite in the world. If they don't attack their food as soon as they see it, that usually indicates sickness. It is quite easy to make homemade duck food, or you can buy cornmeal or duck starter meal. Cornmeal can be found at any grocery store, but duckling food can only be found in tack stores. Make sure not to buy adult waterfowl food for your baby ducklings because it is filled with medicine. Since baby ducks have such big appetites, it is very easy for them to overdose on any adult bird food.

PetHelpful says that when ducklings are a few weeks old you can let them run around your yard, but do not leave your ducklings outside unsupervised until they are about a month old.
