Fans Think They Know The Indiana Jones Game’s Name

In a little over a week, Xbox is holding a Developer Direct that will give us our first look at Wolfenstein developer MachineGames’ Indiana Jones game. It’s said that we’ll get our first taste of the game’s gameplay, and we can probably expect to learn what it’s called. Funnily enough, though, fans think they’ve already figured out its name.
As reported by IGN, Twitter user Kurakasis seems to have stumbled upon some domain names that were reportedly registered by Lucasfilm, all of which point to one specific name and one of which suggests it could be a game. According to these domains, MachineGames’ Indiana Jones game could be titled Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

The domains registered by Lucasfilm – as confirmed by a Whois lookup – include indianajonesandthegreatcirclegame.com, indianajones-and-the-great-circle.com, and a lot more that are along those lines. As also noted by Kurakasis, Lucasfilm also filed for a trademark for “The Great Circle” in late 2022, and while it hasn’t been approved yet, it does seem to add more weight to the theory.
MachineGames was announced to be working on an Indiana Jones game in early 2021, with parent company and publisher Bethesda saying that the game would focus on Indie at the height of his career. The company was acquired alongside every other Zenimax studio by Microsoft shortly after the announcement, but thankfully Indiana Jones survived the transition.
The Great Circle isn’t exactly the best name, honestly, but it is memorable at the very least. Personally, I’d have gone for The Exciting Rectangle or The Huge Triangle, but The Great Circle is fine, I guess.
It’s not known what platforms MachineGames’ Indiana Jones game will come to quite yet, but we’ll likely find out next week. We can be fairly sure it’ll come to Xbox Series X|S, since Microsoft owns MachineGames and Zenimax, but it’s possible that a pre-existing contract could see the game still come to PS5. At the very least, it won’t be long until we know for sure.
