This cult-favorite creation (ground beef and refried beans sandwiched between two crispy tortillas, then topped with melted cheese and tomatoes) which was wiped from menus back in 2020. Since then, there has been an outcry on social media—and even a petition on Change.org—to bring back the beloved meal.
Here’s the good news: Taco Bell’s Mexican Pizza is finally coming back.
What Happened to the Mexican Pizza?
Back in November 2020, Taco Bell announced that it was parting ways with its Mexican Pizza.
This news was not taken lightly. The menu staple had been around since 1985, when it was first introduced as Pizzazz Pizza, and customers were devastated to see it go. So, they took to social media to air their grievances, and eventually, a Change.org petition was made to keep the Mexican Pizza on Taco Bell’s menu.
The devoted fan base rallied over 170,000 signatures on the petition, yet we still said goodbye to the Mexican Pizza. But that’s about to change.
