Hilaria Baldwin has found herself in some hot water after sharing what she believed was a sweet mother-daughter photo.

The photo in question, which has riled many on the internet, features the mom of 7 striking a pose with her 10-year-old daughter Carmen.

“Date night with my first baby…she did both our makeup. How quickly they get big and how amazing it is to get to be inspired by them. Carmen, you are such a special soul…just like your siblings…all unique and equally incredible. Met you today, 13 years ago, @alecbaldwininsta …what a journey we have made🤍…ps edit from Carmen and me here for the birthday wishes we are reading in comments: it’s not her bday …it’s the day I met Alec. ❤️ you all,” she captioned the mirror selfie.

Hilaria can be seen rocking a body-hugging denim jumpsuit, as her wavy hair frames her face, while her eldest daughter dons a brown jumpsuit with paper-straight hair.

But many on the internet took issue with the pre-teen’s full face of makeup, which they felt made her look too “grown” for her age.

“Why do these celebrities make their children look so grown. Why all that make up??” one questioned, lumping together all celebrity parents.

“I feel the same way. Makeup, accessories, nails. They don't get the time to be kids,” someone else quipped, as another echoed, “Why is she looking so grown up?”

Another tried to be supportive before sprinkling in some criticism of their own, noting, “Beautiful. But as the mother of two daughters…too young for the makeup/grown up look.”

Someone else called out Hilaria for constantly documenting moments with her kids, stating: “Always that phone ! Why dont you have private moments with your children ? Happiness does not need to be [shared].”

However, many came to Hilaria and Carmen’s defense, urging those spewing hateful comments to “mind their business,” be “less critical,” and find ways to “be kind.”

“Make up or no- make up, the reason why this beautiful girl stands tall and proud next to her mum is the fact that she has amazing parents, who allow her to explore and be herself. Stop all those discriminating comments and this prejudgment!” one fan explained.

“All these comments about wearing makeup. She is having a fun time with her mummy and what a great way to do it . My daughter and I used to do each others make up it's a great way to bond , especially with the eldest in a big family,” someone else wrote, as a third echoed, “It’s called fun, you should try it sometime.”

“She's going on a dinner date with her mom. Haven't you ever wanted to dress up and do your hair and make-up when you're going out with someone special?” a third user questioned, while someone else called the look “subtle” and another complimented Carmen on her skills, noting, “I wish she could do my makeup! I could use the help lol.”

Hilaria seemingly took to her Instagram Story to kindly defend herself from the comments, explaining that she always let her daughter “play with makeup” before recalling a story when Carmen was three and stole one of her bright blue lipsticks and painted her whole face blue like a Smurf.

“And I was like go for it, it’s art,” Hilaria said before complimenting her daughter for perfecting her skills and “getting so much better.”

Hilaria and Alec Baldwin have been married since 2012. In addition to Carmen, they are also parents to daughters Maria Lucía Victoría, 2 and 16-month-old Ilaria Catalina, as well as sons Rafael Thomas, 8, Leonardo "Leo" Ángel, 7, Romeo Alejandro, 5 and Eduardo "Edu" Pao Lucas, 3. Alec is also a dad to 28-year-old Ireland Baldwin, whom he shares with ex-wife Kim Basinger.
