Fans React to Drake's Newest Perplexing Face Tattoo

Drake

Drake has a new face tattoo—and fans are questioning his decision.

The Canadian actor-turned-rapper was recently photographed by Brent Kore with the new addition to his body art, which is placed right above his eyebrow, and from the looks of it, the word he chose has very conflicting meanings.

In photos taken Saturday, Nov. 18, though very small, the word "miskeen" can be seen spelled out in typed letters.

The word translates to “poor” or “pathetic” in Arabic and Amharic, however, is commonly used in the "Take Care" rapper's hometown of Toronto to describe a “sweet and innocent” person, according to NOW Toronto. On the other hand, the large Somali community in the Canadian city apparently uses the word to mean the same as its actual translation, per Billboard, so personal reasoning behind getting the tattoo is still unclear.

Drake has yet to debut the new ink on his own platforms, and hasn't shared the meaning behind it as of yet.

Fans seemed perplexed about the decision, taking to social media with their gripes and confusion.

"'Miskeen' is originally an Arabic word which means 'poor or hopeless.' The dude lives in a $150m mansion," one pointed out, while another said, “The way Drake is anything but Miskeen.”

"If Drake is miskeen what’s the word for the rest of us?” someone else inquired.

This isn't the first piece of art the "One Dance" artist has added to his face as part of his seemingly ever-growing collection of body ink.

In addition to sprawling tats across his entire chest and back, last August, Los Angeles-based tattoo artist NAL shared a video of the "God's Plan" rapper getting his mom’s initials, “SG,” tatted under his left eye, sharing a snap via Instagram at the time.
