Fans Are Loving Elizabeth Hurley’s ‘Bedazzled’ Throwback Pic With Brendan Fraser

  • Elizabeth Hurley shared throwback photos with Brendan Fraser from Bedazzled.

  • She also shared a photo taken with Fraser at the recent premiere of his film The Whale.

  • Fans loved seeing the two reunited and the trip down memory lane.

Elizabeth Hurley’s latest Instagram is giving fans the Bedazzled reunion they didn’t know they needed. Over the weekend, Hurley went to see her former co-star Brendan Fraser’s new film, The Whale, and it inspired her to reminisce on their 2000 comedic fantasy with a couple of throwback photos from the film.

If you’re not familiar with Bedazzled, it’s the story of how the devil (Hurley) lures awkward Elliot Richards (Fraser) into her capture by promising him the girl of his dreams in exchange for his soul. In the shot Hurley shared, she stands face-to-face with Fraser, looking into his eyes longingly with her hand behind his neck. In another photo, she stands behind him in laughter while he is seemingly strangled by someone.

Hurley also shared the film’s official poster, as well as a photo with Fraser taken at The Whale premiere. The upcoming drama (premiering December 9) is a very different film from Bedazzled. In it, Fraser plays a recluse English teacher who attempts to reconnect with his estranged daughter.

“What a thrill to meet up with my old friend Brendan Fraser and see his brilliant new movie @thewhalemov,” Hurley captioned the series of photos. “Brendan is one of the nicest men on earth. I have the best memories of shooting Bedazzled—a mere 22 years ago. He is superb in The Whale ❤️.”

Fans loved the blast from the past and seeing Hurley’s support of her old pal Fraser. “Bedazzled is a favorite in my house 🙌,” one person commented. “One of my favorite movies and two of my favorite stars,” another added. “I loved Bedazzled!! You two had great chemistry ❤️❤️❤️,” someone else wrote.

Both actors have taken their own forms of hiatuses since their Bedazzled days. The Whale marks Fraser’s first lead role in 12 years (and it’s already garnering Oscar buzz), and Hurley has steadily worked on one or two projects a year since 2010, a mix of lead and supporting roles.

But acting is only one of Hurley’s many hustles, which include her swimwear line, Elizabeth Hurley Beach, and her efforts to raise breast cancer awareness (she’s said women should get mamograms religiously after 40) with The Estée Lauder Companies’ Breast Cancer Campaign, which she’s worked on for the last 27 years.

Needless to say, much has changed since Bedazzled released at the top of the century—which makes Hurley and Fraser’s full-circle reunion that much sweeter.
