Fans Say Lady Gaga 'Should Be in Prison' After Performing in the Middle of the Crowd While Sick With COVID

Lady Gaga performs onstage during The Chromatica Ball Tour at Dodger Stadium on Sept. 10, 2022, in Los Angeles, Calif.

Lady Gaga may lose some of her little monsters after admitting to pushing on with several shows after testing positive for COVID-19.

The "Edge of Glory" songstress made the revelation during a Q&A in Los Angeles on Thursday, May 23, where she was celebrating the premiere of her Gaga Chromatica Ball concert special, debuting on HBO. And after hearing her confession, some declared "should be in prison" for the unnecessary risks she took on behalf of her crew and her fans.

According to People, the artist admitted to doing five Chromatica Ball performances after coming down with the coronavirus, though she didn't specify which shows.

In a video uploaded to X, she explained that she disclosed the diagnosis to every member of her team, assuring them that they didn't have to work or perform that day if they weren't comfortable with it, but that she was going to go on with the show. "I just didn't want to let all the fans down," she explained, further defending the decision by suggesting that "the fans were all putting themselves in harm's way every day coming to the show" anyway.

But those watching at home weren't on board with the ambition or the justification, and after one shared a clip of a moment in the show where she walks through the crowd each night, one person declared, "she should be in prison."

Others felt that took things too far, but agreed, "i don't think this is something you can brag about..."

"This is not a flex," another affirmed, while someone else questioned "why on earth would you reveal that" and set herself up for "backlash because you’re putting the health and safety of not only yourself, but THOUSANDS of people at risk…"

"girl, be serious," another said. "so irresponsible."

"shes a disgrace," the criticism continued, before one person went so far as to predict that a "class action lawsuit" was "incoming."
