Kevin Hart dedicated a recent Instagram post to his buddy Will Ferrell, but in throwing his fellow comedian some love, he inadvertently gave fans a fright.

When the Ride Along actor wrote, "I love you to Will!!!!! Funniest man on the planet you are!!!!!" alongside a black and white photo of two "of the funniest people on the planet," as one commenter noted, awkwardly holding onto one another in front of a blank background, followed by a similar pose in full color, some fans felt their hearts jump, assuming the brief message served as a death announcement for the Blades of Glory actor.

Some fans were delicate with their assumptions, not wanting to say the words outright.

"Man my anxiety just went up… I thought this was one of those posts 😩," one wrote.

"I stared at the screen for a hot minute 😭 got scared," another admitted.

"Man I almost had a heart attack," a third wrote, while another chastised, "Y’all gotta chill with these black and white pics. Scared me to death."

Others were more outright, with one commenting, "baby, kevin, please don’t play with our emotions. we done thought this man died.😭😭😭."

"Lord, my heart stopped. I thought Will Ferrell was visiting the upper room.😂😩," said another.

"Don’t stress us out like this again man 😤😂😅," many demanded, but one pointed out that it was actually a very sweet post to see, given that nothing that we know of has happened to Ferrell.

"Kevin real for this give them [their] roses while they alive❤️," they added.
